Item Description... Overview Reluctantly agreeing to attend a revival meeting featuring a former healing evangelist and his conniving wife, Bell unexpectedly falls for the man's young son in spite of her suspicions that his parents are fleecing their supporters--a situation that is further complicated by a terrible accident. Original.
Publishers Description When the ominous Thunders roll into Dr. Amanda Bell Brown's town, the sassy sleuth sees a storm brewing. Disgraced playboy preacher Ezekiel Thunder and his seductive first lady, Nikki, are on the comeback trail, but Bell is less than charmed by the pair. When their toddler, Baby Zeekie, is found dead from an accidental drowning, forensic psychologist Bell suspects foul play in the fatal family, especially after the mama in mourning flirts with Bell's estranged husband, Jazz. Bell is sickened by the woman's behavior and the thought of someone murdering an innocent child -- or is it morning sickness that's plaguing her? Between babies and bodies, she pushes past the limits to discover the deadly truth.

 | Burney does it again May 19, 2010 |
| If you loved the first two Amanda Bell Brown books (Murder, Mayhem & a Fine Man; Death, Deceit & Some Smooth Jazz), you'll love this one even more. If you haven't read the first two, you MUST read them first or this one won't make much sense. This series is unique in combining a sassy, funny style and high sexual tension with deep, serious spiritual content. This is not your grandma's CBA fiction. It's real and it's gripping. And definitely NOT only for African Americans. But be sure to block out a weekend to read it, because you will not be able to put it down! | | | | Disappointed May 17, 2010 |
| I read the first 2 novels of this series within 5 days. Both were execellent page turners. This one however was a bit disappointing. The main character, Bell, was very indecisive. For her to be a seasoned christian, she behaved like a babe in Christ. I'm only halfway through the book, and I have put it down several times because of Bell's position with her husband. Her behavior is very annoying. Also, it appears as though Carly's attitude is very different from book one. I'm not sure what's up with Bell's Mom. Thus far, I have been disappointed with the whole story. | | | | CinderBella Jan 17, 2010 |
It's been five months since Bell turned thirty-five. Since, she's had two attempts on her life, met, fallen in love and married Lt. Jazz Brown, separated and is hiding a secret that threatens to end her life.
The drama is brewing in Bell's life as usual. Despite her estranged marriage and loyalties, Bell doesn't know how to resolve any of her own issues, though she's a gem when it comes to others problems. When Rocky shows up at her door, she's excited to have any semblance or normalcy back, even if it means going to see Ezekiel Thunder, a fallen Pentecostal pastor on the comeback trail.
Trying to bounce back, an intervention in her office leads her to her husband, who's recently befriended Jack Daniels. Uncertain about their future, Mr. and Mrs. Brown are trying to find a way to make amends as they find themselves trapped in the middle of yet another murder.
Bell is uncertain how to relate to Jazz and vice versa. The two obviously love one another, but with so much baggage from their pasts, they both need to learn to love and live together. Will they be able to get over this hurdle or has enough happened to get them to part ways?
An obvious fan of the Amanda Bell mystery series, I have to agree that book three is not as mysterious as the others. Still, it didn't distract from the storyline. I laughed, cheered and relished in the love that the characters share. A few editing issues, but the story is so amusing, inspiring and refreshing, that you can easily overlook them.

| I loved this book and author! The whole Amanda Bell Brown Mystery Series is fantastic. If you want to read a book that will keep you turning the pages, this author and book is where its at! Every book she has written it takes me less than a week to finish the book, not because I have nothing else to do its just because its that GOOD!!!!! Buy it NOW! | | | | Too Drawn Out Sep 21, 2009 |
| Although I really enjoy Ms. Mair's work, it does tend to be drawn out a little too long by her characaters being a little wavery minded. 1/2 through the story, she pretty much gives it away, then you have to put up with, does she want to be married or not, does she want to be with her best friend Rocky or not! I hope she puts these characters to rest and start anew. Also, I know it's Christian Fiction but can we get a little more action in the bedroom? How in the world did she ever get pregnant? | | | Write your own review about Deadly Charm (Amanda Bell Brown Mystery Series, Book 3)
