Rather than presenting students with a book where they learn little snippets of information about one short time in history, this Answers in Genesis history curriculum uses a comprehensive curriculum approach. In Romans, Reformers, and Revolutionaries, students study history from the resurrection of Christ through 1799 from a Biblical worldview while taking into consideration everything going on in the world before, during and after this time period. The workbook also integrates art, music, architecture, math, and numerous other subjects (making it a comprehensive curriculum) as they relate to the topic being discussed. The student workbook also has areas for vocabulary, student self-evaluation, short answer questions, maps, etc. There is literally something for everyone (reading, written work, audio CDs, hands-on projects, etc.), which is a neat way to encourage students with different learning styles.
As for the CDs that accompany this curriculum, we didn't even know that there was a curriculum when we bought the CDs. We simply wanted some audio CDs to listen to while we wre traveling. We enjoyed them so much that we didn't want to turn off the CD player when we arrived at our destinations. These are exceptional and my children still listen to them all the time. They don't even realize that they're "schoolwork"!
This is a terrific curriculum and with it, parents can place something in their students' hands that they will actually WANT to do! History will never be the same after you use Romans, Reformers, and Revolutionaries. You (and your children) will be so excited about history that you won't be able to get enough!
