Item Description... Overview Though there are many Christian writers, very few write for the ages. Edwards, best-selling author of The Divine Romance, introduces you to three of them. Spend 100 days with Jeanne Guyon, Francois Fenelon, and Miguel Molinos---three 17th-century believers who penned some of the most profound yet practical words on living intimately with Christ.
Publishers Description There are many Christian writers. There are a few great writers. Then there is the few exceptional persons who write for the ages. Their books never go out of date and never go out of style. In 1800 years of Christian literature you could hold all such books in one hand. Guyon, Fenelon, and Molinos are in a class all by themselves. They offer the most usable words on the deeper Christian life. Others can write inspiration, others can stir you emotionally, but invariably they leave you without handles. These three authors will take you through 100 days of inspiration and down to earth help on living an intimate life with the Lord. Within the pages of this book are possibly the best, most practical words penned on the 'how' of living with Christ in the deepest possible way.
Community Description Gene Edwards, the master storyteller, has gathered together the writings of three Christian mystics from the 17th century: Michael Molinos, Madam Guyon and Franois Fenelon. The writings of these "masters of the spiritual ways" will be as lamp posts leading the weary traveler towards that secret place lovingly created by the Father.
The writings of Molinos, Guyon and Fenelon will bring you to the brink of your own humanity as they lure you to step over the threshold into the world where God has prepared a special place just for you. 176 pages, softcover.

| If you are a true seeker of the Lord this book is what you need to add to your library. It keeps me inspired and gives me a longing to know the Lord in a more intimate relationship then I have ever known Him. Don't let this book pass you by. | | | | A look at the cross Oct 3, 2002 |
| This book is a collection of writings from the Roman Catholics Francois Fenelon, Michael Molinos, and Madame Guyon. It's good, deep stuff dealing on the topics of the cross and prayer. The writings are not broken into a "daily devotional" format as the title may lead one to believe, but the book can be read in such a way since it is broken down into "small bits." The book has three sections: Way of the Cross, Drawing Inward, and Stepping Into His Presence. Within each section, each "author" is given about ten small chapters (usually no more than a couple pages). Most of Guyon's writings come from the SeedSower's book edited by Edwards called, Experiencing The Depths of Jesus Chrsit Through Prayer, so buying this book will offer nothing new from Guyon if you already have the other book. I'm guessing that the writings from Molinos comes from his, The Spiritual Guide. There is very little scripture in this book, but what is taught is very, very good (of course, not everyone may agree with what is written). The chapters deal with the cross, suffering, real prayer, inward prayer, silence, meditation on scripture, listening to God, knowing God, love, and beholding the Lord, among others. The book also includes short biographies of the three authors. | | | Write your own review about 100 Days In The Secret Place
