| I have known Ronnie Floyd for many years. We were in fact in seminary together and served in the same city together although at different congregations. I think this is one of the finest books for pastors out there. I have given away about 100 copies to friends and clients. This book is a must read for all pastors. It is simply and to the point but full of practical ideas. There is a reason Ronnie's church has flourished, God's blessing and hard work by their pastor. I know of no one that gets up earlier in the day and puts in more time with God than Ronnie. His work ethic alone should be emulated by pastors. 10 Things Every Minister Needs to Know" is an outstanding reminder to every Christian, lay persons and ministers alike, who serve God's kingdom in any capacity. I am not, nor ever have been, a licensed minister, yet I came away from this book exhorted to make my daily quiet time longer and absolutely essential. I came away encouraged that who I am is more important than what I do, sometimes a difficult concept for a first-born child. And I came away more determined in decision-making in all areas of my life - family, career, ministry - to faithfully base them on God's Word first. As my former pastor, Dr. Ed Young writes in the Foreward, I wish I'd read this excellent book 25 years ago. Read it! Absorb it! Practice it!
