Good read  Jan 11, 2007
Easy to read and great book to escape for a little while with a good family story line

Great Book  Jan 3, 2007
I loved this book. Dee Henderson does it again. She kept me captivated through-out the entire story. Thanks Dee!

A Lovely 2 Day read  Jan 1, 2007
I've got personal nits with the cover, but those aside, someone give this woman a movie contract! Yes, this probably fits a generic romance/ mystery story: handsome men out to protect women, but heck, all Ms. Henderson's stuff fit's that mold. The difference is that Dee Henderson certainly knows how to write well. Her dialogue is believable, her characters a mite flat (but that's to be expected,) the amount of details is decent without being pathetically long, and the general pace is good.

If you've read enough mystery, you'll be able to predict the end, but this was still a nice 2-day read.

Unsure But Turned Out Good  Nov 18, 2006
I was really unsure of this book after reading some of the reviews. I had gotten into the O'Malley series and loved the True Heroes series. So I gave it a shot and I'm glad I did. I'm not going to write a plot summary there's enough of them on this site from other reviewers. I liked the character development in this book and feel that it is probably the first book of a new series. I think Ms. Henderson was trying to get everyone introduced and page time. I enjoyed the bond that the chief and Amy had together. As others have stated this isn't a preachy book, but I did like how she wove God and how the different characters felt about religion in it. Was shocked about 3/4th of the way through it but it was related to the story. I felt this book was good but not great especially when compared to her O'Malley series. I would recommend it after recommending the O'Malley series first.

You'll love it  Nov 12, 2006
I was staying with a friend a few years ago, I asked if she had something to read, she handed me a Dee Henderson book. That's all she wrote. I had never really been in to the suspense books prior to that first one. I've read almost all of hers and have moved on to Ted Dekker, Randy Alcorn, & of course there's always Frank Peretti.

The Witness is a good stand-alone book. Someone complained about the lack of character development. It didn't appear to me that it was the first in a series. Just because the author has written books that happen to end up being apart of a series, doesn't mean all of them need to be.

I look forward to new adventures that Dee Henderson will take me on!
