Reviews - What do our customers think?
Moving and Inspirational  Jun 20, 2009
This book just felt so REAL. The writing is very natural and Sabrina is such a compelling character -- a former prostitute, estranged from her family, who is still so innocent in many ways, so childlike (she's only 16). After she is rescued from the streets by a kindly policeman and his wife, she sets out for Montana to build a new life for herself and quickly finds herself befriending a former prostitute, defending an abused wife and getting involved with the church's new pastor. My only real complaint with the book is that it didn't have a very strong historical feel to it -- I always like to emerge from a book like this feeling like I've actually learned a bit of history, particularly US history. It felt like the story was excellent but the historical research was perhaps not as strong as it could be. But it's a quick read which will stay with you and uplift you. Enjoy!

Something to think about  Jun 9, 2009
There was something missing from this book. Something that Lori usually delivers in her books that was missing here.I don't think the reader could connect as much with this book. Maybe the details were not as precise or maybe the emotion was not conveyed as strong with her characters, either way there was something missing, but this book is not a complete flop.
The plot was great. As much as christian readers are fascinated by "bad girls" we are much more encouraged by bad girls who come to Christ. Sabrina is a story about a prostitute who falls in love with a preacher it cannot get anymore engaging than those two opposite right there. As usual the character are dedicating their life to God and being the regular Lori wick characters some forgiving, some condemning. But this book was different these characters took on a new dimension it was not a simple everyone gets saved book. It had some depth too it. I mean how would you feel if you were lead into prostitution at a young age, then recieved a chance at a different life only to find out your old life keeps haunting you? Lori wick tries to delve into this. But even then it was much deeper than that. How would you feel about being in a relationship with a person whos past was not as adventerous as yours? How would they view you? where would you find forgiveness?
Lori wick explores all this in this book and that is why I rated it so high even though there was something that made the reader feel the book was not complete this book made you think about forgiveness of yourself and of others by putting it in a light we can understand.By showing the not so perfect characters. And maybe that is why the book has a missing dimension, it may have been a new concept that Lori couldn't get down to the T. Anyway I enjoy her for it.
Me personally, I am happy she choose a prostitute I like the twist from the characters already being "good" characters and just accepting God.

Sabrina  Apr 29, 2009
I've read and enjoyed most of Lori Wick's titles. This one; not so much. The book is poorly edited and,as a result, it has a number of continuity errors. It appears as though the author wrote a 100 page story then went back and filled space by inserting irrelevant dialogue between or among peripheral characters that does not support the story line. Moreover, there are a number of instances where a foundation was not established for the interaction between characters. For me it was confusing and cumbersome.

Prostitute to Preacher's Wife  Apr 7, 2009
This is a Christian historical romance book that is fairly predictable and contains a lot of scripture, including the plan of salvation. Sabrina, the main character, was a prostitute who is befriended by the sheriff and his wife who share God's plan of salvation with her and help her get out of prostitution. She leaves town and starts a new life, supporting herself by being a seamstress and working in a mercantile. She tries to help other prostitutes and finds love in her new town. It's a book that promotes compassion and forgiveness, but pretty predictable although it leaves some loose ends. The author did not go into a lot of detail when handling the prostitution aspect of this story. I enjoyed reading it.

Unconditional Love  Mar 5, 2009
Sabrina is a tale of redemption and unconditional love. The beautiful way Lori Wick brings the tragedy of bad choice to the grace of God is awe inspiring.
