 | Embarrassing! Aug 1, 2007 |
| I'm not sure what the point of this thin volume was. If it was written as a cathartic exercise for self-proclaimed former abuse victim R.D. Coles, then I hope, at the very least, she felt a little better after writing it. If, however, it was meant to educate, inspire, or convey Christian principles, it fell well short of the mark. More importantly, if she believes, according to the concluding paragraph, that the "generational curse [of abuse] is broken" as of the year 2000, and because of her book, then she is sadly deluded. The text is filled, and I mean filled, with grammatical errors, incomplete sentences, and malapropisms (e.g. "I fell head over hills for him" p. 27, "She will blurt out gestures . . ." p. 13, to site but two examples) It appears to be written by a 10th grader, not a 30 year old college graduate, "preacher", and seminary student. I wonder if she gave the manuscript to someone to proofread. The poor writing was such a distraction that it obfuscated even the simplistic, home-spun theology/philosophy that she was attempting to convey. As I read this, I felt embarrassed for R.D. Coles. | | | Write your own review about A Woman's Cry For Help
