| This collection of sermons are beautiful in the way they are written, and deserving of a wide and far reading. Augustine, in my opinion, is the greatest of writers of the Early Church Fathers, maybe only being matched by Chrysostom. This collection is very easy to read, and because they were sermons, each selection is a nice length, perfect for devotions during the Advent and Christmas seasons. There are also sermons for Epiphany, and the beginning of the New Year. As with any of the Early Church writings the quality of translation is paramount as to that reading acessibility. In this series, Ancient Christian Writers, all the trasnslations are modern and seem to be very well done.
